Describe your current work/practice in one sentence.

I believe jewellery to be wearable sculpture pieces, and my current practice focuses on blending sculptural forms into my jewellery designs to achieve a unique aesthetic.

What are three things/ideas that inspire you?

Emotions
Human form
Order and chaos

What other things do you do besides your jewellery practice?

I enjoy making sculpture both by hand and 3D modelling.

My favourite piece Brambles, was made by integrating 3D modelling and 3D printing techniques into my jewellery practice. My aim with this piece was to blend wearable sculpture with the human form. This piece represents the hardships we face when pursuing our goals - the two hands reaching for the gem express one's ambition to reach their goal, while the brambles pierce the hands as a reflection of the sacrifices that must be made in the process.

What is a favourite piece that you’ve made and why?

What word pops into your mind when you think of Canadian art jewellery?

Currently, I am working at Jewel Envy, and with a large interest in gemstones I am focusing on developing my setting skills to create unique, simple, and balanced custom designs. Along with that, I am working on creating a line of work that blends the human form into wearable jewellery.

What is coming up next for you?
